This compact media converter connects 10/100/1000Base-T over RJ45 to a fiber link via an SFP slot. With multimode fibers (850 nm), distances up to 550 m can be bridged, for example for connecting remote building sections or backbone transitions.
In professional IT environments, for on-site installations and in service deployments, existing copper cabling can be extended to fiber without structural modifications. In existing infrastructures of companies and public institutions, the conversion also provides a reliable connection over longer distances.
